I got it for about £23 on sale in December, I bought Valve Complete bundle for £9.60 and feel for Portal 2 in Vorpx it is worth £40. Resolution is another big problem, current headset are still quite a bit behind regular monitors, so even if everything works, text can still be to blurry for comfort.īut when you are bored with all the indie VR titles and nothing new in sight, being able to just hammer a 2D game into VR is a neat thing to have and I had certainly more fun with VorpX and all it's brokenness than I had with many VR games. FOV of many games is also too low for VR and while VorpX can override that, you will end up with object pop-in at the corners. And even when everything works with VorpX, you still have the issues that VR headsets don't work well with third person cameras unless you are motion-sickness proof. It's far from a smooth experience, even well supported games almost always have some graphic glitches and you'll probably spend more time fiddling with settings than playing any games. Make sure to check the compatibility lists. I can't say I ever finished a single game with it, but at the same time it is incredible neat to be able to revisit some old games in 3D (very few go full VR). Now my setup is a little unusual in that my PC is connected to a TV and I rarely use the mouse and keyboard. I had a largely enjoyable experience playing through Outer Worlds, Fallout 3, Prey (2017), Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite and have played some Fallout New Vegas and others. I got more than my money’s worth out of it but haven’t used it lately because there are a lot more games being modded for VR now.
